EVSC Foundation FAQs
How was EVSC Foundation, Inc. formed?
Recent state legislation enables Indiana School Corporations to establish 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundations. Accordingly, EVSC Foundation was formed in 2008 as the designated fundraising agency for EVSC programs and activities.
Why was EVSC Foundation established?
The reality is that public funding alone cannot support all the necessary, worthwhile programs and activities that our students deserve. Private funding through EVSC Foundation is necessary to bridge the gap in order to ensure student success.
What are the goals of the EVSC Foundation?
Initially, EVSC Foundation will focus on major multiyear funding to jumpstart Strategic Plan projects such as Technology, Early Childhood Education, Innovative School Models, Professional Development, and Core Experiences. Also, EVSC Foundation will give special emphasis to the funding of endowments which will create revenue streams to help sustain EVSC programs and related activities for generations to come.
How will EVSC Foundation raise funds to meet the above goals?
It is proposed that Strategic Plan projects will be funded primarily by major multiyear cash investments by our local corporate partners. It is further anticipated that major endowments to sustain programs and activities will be funded by individuals utilizing a variety of planned giving financial vehicles or direct gifts. Also, other corporate, individual, and foundation donors will have the opportunity to donate lesser sums to a new EVSC Hall of Fame Endowment which will provide an annual revenue stream for EVSC programs and activities.
Is EVSC Foundation part of the school system?
Although legally created by the school system, EVSC Foundation is a separate legal entity from the school system and is governed by a separate Board of Directors.
How can I give?
EVSC offers a variety of tax deductible ways to give. Some of the giving opportunities available are cash gifts, stocks, real estate, bequests, trusts, annuities, life insurance, and other financial ways suited to your needs. Gifts are accepted in any amount. If you wish to use a credit card for your gift, please go to Donate Now.
